Since 1935, Variety – The Children’s Charity of Wisconsin has been helping children reach their full potential and making sure that they experience all the joys that come with being a kid.

To celebrate their rich history, they would like to share 80 stories that have made Variety of Wisconsin the great organization it is today. Each story will spotlight people – including volunteers, donors and sponsors who have helped build the organization, and most importantly, stories about children that Variety have served. They will also spotlight significant milestones and achievements throughout their history.

Formed in Milwaukee in 1935 by a group of local movie theatre operators, Variety – The Children’s Charity of Wisconsin is dedicated to assisting children in need, stepping in when insurance will not and family resources simply cannot. By providing life-enriching assistance to Wisconsin children challenged by physical disabilities, Variety hopes to help kids experience all the joys of childhood while growing to become confident, independent and free to access all that the world has to offer. Variety of Wisconsin is a chapter of Variety – the Children’s Charity, an international charity with more than 40 chapters around the world. Formed in 1928 in the Sheridan theatre in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania by a group of 10 show business men to help children in need, Variety is one of the oldest and most comprehensive children’s charities in the world.
